  • Where as folder can be empty until it is filled, and a folder can hold one or more files. There can be numerous tiers of folders inside of folders, and a folder can include other folders as well.
  • In a computer storage device, a file is a resource for discretely storing data.
  • Where as, a directory containing additional files and folders is referred to as a folder.
  • While a folder can contain unlimited number of other folders or files, but a  file cannot.
  • The memory requirements and file sizes of a folder are the same but files  contains determine size.
