see flood irrigation or which is also called as surface irrigation is defined mainly as the group of application techniques where water is applied and distributed over the whole soil surface by gravity.here water distribution is mainly uncontrolled
furrow irrigation is mainly suitable for a wide variety of soils and land slopes whereas flood irrigation is a restricted one, please try and understand this that flood irrigation cannot be used everywhere under all types of crops and the water distribution is mainly uncontrolled
