Small intestine is capable to forms the layer of continuous bands of muscles around it. Large intestine is reduced to three types of muscles bands.The small intestine is about 20 feet long and about an inch in diameter. It absorbs the nutrients from what we eat and drink. The large intestine is about 5 feet long and about 3 inches in diameter. It absorbs water from wastes, creating stool.
