In liquid phase the atoms are somewhat closely packed whereas the atoms are very loosely packed in gas phase.

Liquids cannot be compressed while gas can be compressed.

Liquids have definite volume but gases do not have definite volume.

Both liquids and gases do not have a definite shape and take the shape of the container in which they are stored.

Liquids flow from higher level to lower level but gases flow in random direction.
