A mountain has peaks exceeding 300m above sea level. A plateau can be either of those but generally has no discernible peak. Rather, it has a relatively flat area instead. ... Though both mountains and plateaus are elevated landforms, their similarities end with this point and differences begin.

plateau explains the place which has water on three sides....mountain which are the higher then the length from horizontal and vertical
