Hardwood

Springwood: The xylem which formed in the spring season is known as spring season wood. These xylem contains larger and numerous pores which are mostly xylem vessels with wider opening and lumens. The lumens are having less fibers content and it grows radially with wide depth. This wood is also known as early wood.

Hardwood: The hardwood is formed during the summer or autumn season at that time the activity of the cambium is less. The vessels get thickened with narrow lumens. The hardwood mostly consists of fibers and narrow vessels.
