Answer:
The matter are of three types-
1.solid-It has it's fixed shape and volume.It cannot be compressed .
2.liquid-It donot have it's definate shape it takes the shape of it's container in which it has kept.
3.gases-it can compress easily.it donot have it's definate shape.

what are the different states of matter?
Generally, Matter is broadly divided into 5 types but mostly we learn about only 3 types .
Hence, The three states of matter are ;
- Solids
- Liquids
- Gases
Extra information:
The left over two states of matter are;
4. plasma
5. BEC ( Bose Einstein Condensate of Matter)
Solids :
- Solids have a definite shape .
- Solids have a definite volume.
- Solids have high intermolecular forces of attraction .
- Solids cannot flow from one place to another .
- Intermolecular space is negligible.
- Solids are in compressible.
Liquids :
- Liquids do not have a definite shape. But they will take the shape of the container
- Liquids have a definite volume.
- In liquids intermolecular forces of attraction is less.
- Liquids can diffuse from one place to another. ( diffuse = to flow )
- Intermolecular space is present.
- Liquids are compressible.
Gases :
- Gases don't have definite shape.
- Gases don't have definite volume.
- In gases intermolecular forces of attraction is negligible.
- Gases are highly diffused.
- Intermolecular space is more.
- Gases are highly compressible.
