Transparent:-

materials that allow light to pass through them completely are called transparent materials.we can see clearly through transparent materials, for example:- air, clear glass and water.

Translucent:-

materials that allow light to pass through them partially are called translucent materials. We can see through translucent materials but not clearly as compared to transparent materials, for example:- coloured glass, butter paper and fog are examples of translucent materials.

translucent objects are semi transparent, some ultraviolet rays can pass through them. Thus a person behind a translucent object can get sunburns.

Opaque:-

materials that do not allow light to pass through them at all are called opaque materials. We cant see through opaque materials at all,for example:-wood,stone,cardboard.
