  • Ex-situ means offsite conservation.
  • It is onsite conservation or the conservation of genetic resources in natural populations of plant or animal species.
  • It is the process of protecting an endangered species of plant or animal outside its natural habitat
  • Example- Biosphere reserve.
  • Example- seed bank, botanical garden.
