Single cell embryo is called as zygote.

When sperm and egg meet, they form zygote. It is implanted in womb(uterus) of mother, it divides into multicellular embryo.

In Embryological studies if you find a single cell, its Zygote. Any thing multicellular is embryo and any embryo aged more than eight weeks after conception is Fetus.
