Alluvial soil this is a very fertile soil that is mainly found in the delta and the Planes it is very rich in potassium and phosphorus
it is also good for cultivation of crops
black soil is also known as regus which it develops deep crcks to penetrate air it is also good and calcium carbonate maganese and possum but it has less phosphoric contents .it is also good for cultivation of cotton

1. Alluvial soil: Found in northern part of the country, most important and fertile soil.
2. Black soil: found in the north east and central india, ideal for cotton so it is also called cotton black soil.
3. Red and yellow soil: obtained from leguminous rocks, found in south and central india.
4. laterite soil: found in the region with high temperature and heavy rainfall.
5. Forest soil: found In the hilly areas like jammu and kashmir.
6. Arid soil: sandy in texture and saline in nature.
