The different types of salts are :-

Simple salt :-It is a normal salt.when acid reacts with base to form salt is called simple salt.

  • For example :- \tt\:Nacl\:,KNO_3\:etc

Normal salt :-The salt obtained by the complete replacement of H-atom of an acid with base is called normal salt.

  • For example :- KCl,NaCl etc.

Basic salt :- The salt having hydroxide group with it is known as basic salt.

  • for example :- \tt\:Cu(OH)_2\:,Mg(OH)_2\:etc

Acid salt :-In acid salt, there are present one or more replaceable hydrogen atoms.

  • for example :- \tt\:NaHSO_4\:,NHCO_3\:etc

Alkali salt :- It is a normal salt which is obtained from weak acid and strong base and it's aqueous Solution turns red litmus paper blue.

  • For example :- \tt\:Na_2CO_3,Na_2B_4O_7\:\:etc

Double salt :- Double salt is produced by the association of two or more normal salts, which is found in the solid state only .

  • for example :- \tt\:[FeSO_4\:(NH_4)_2\:SO_4\:.6H_2O]\:,[K_2SO_4Al_2(SO_4)_3\:.24H_2O]

Complex salt :- Complex salt contain Complex ions which seems to be a complete salt .

  • for example :- \tt\:K_3[Fe(CN)_6]\:,Ag[(NH_3)_2]Cl\:etc
