a concave mirror is polished on the outer surface and the inside surface is the reflecting surface whereas in the case of the convex mirror the inner surface is the polished surface and the outer surface is the reflecting surface (bulging surface)

light rays are parallel to the principal axis of the light rays diverge from an apperant point called focus. when light rays come from a object beyond 2f to the point pole the image is always virtual ,diminished and lies between the focus and the pole. when an object is placed at the focus the image is formed at infinity.
