A flood is a natural disaster which occurs when the water overflows on the landmass or a water body. The flood is causes by the heavy rainfall, flush of too much water from the water reservoirs such as river, lakes and ponds.

A drought is a natural disaster which occurs when the land receives below average or low precipitation.

Disastrous effects of the flood:

1. Loss of soil due to soil erosion

2. Loss of biodiversity

3. Loss of building and agricultural harvests

Disastrous effects of the drought:

1. Prolonged shortage of the water supply

2. Hot and dry atmospheric conditions
