(1)HCl(aq)⟶H+(aq)+Cl−(aq) After successful dissociation of HClin water, the following reaction takes place: HCl+H2O⟶H3O++Cl−. H will leave its own electron to Cl ion and H gets attached to water to form H3O+, i.e., hydronium ion.

ii)

when the base sodium hydroxide (NaOH) dissolves in water, it produces negative hydroxide ions and positive sodium ions (Na+). This can be represented by the chemical equation: NaOH → H 2 O OH- + Na.
