The term "Paramilitary force" in India has not been defined in any acts or by authorities officially.

I'm a daughter of Ex-serviceman.
*Rewinding the past*
When I was young, being a kid of an army man, we had to travel to places very often. That implied, my school used to change again and again. Until I was 1st standard and my brother 3rd, we all stayed together in MP.
Hailing from Karnataka, my brother and I were not good at Kannada (regional language). We did learn to speak kannada from our parents but not too read and write. My parents tried to teach it though. My brother used to learn. But I would never make an attempt. Firstly because, I found the script very difficult, and secondly because, I was very young to understand the need to learn it.
My parents decided that Kannada education was important for us. So my brother, mom and I shifted to Karnataka. This is where the story starts.
My father used to come after every 3–4 months to visit us for a duration of 15–20 days. It was less. I didn't like it. I wanted my father to be with us, everyday. So did my brother and my mom. But it was not possible.
Everytime, when it was the time for his arrival, we used to wait for him eagerly. It was pretty much like a festival for us. He used to get us chocolates. He'd come to drop us to the school, play with us. I just loved it.
And on the day when he had to go back, it'd just kill the joy. Especially the first few times was really hard as we were never used to concept of living apart from each other. All four of us would be unhappy. But none would really show it. We tried to act cool thinking that it would help calm each other out. I still remember the first time. I was so sad when he left. I started crying and asked my mother to get him back, that he should stay with us. Also once I was in school, I couldn't hold it in and started crying when my teacher calmed me down. I was young and controlling emotion was something I wasn't good at, I guess.
Soon as we grew old, we kinda got used to it. Living apart was still hard, but we understood the need for it.
Now he is retired. He got retired and my brother and I went out to other places for our studies, look at the irony. Seems like staying together for a long duration was never in our destiny. But again, not everything works as we want it to. We are connected. As it's said, distance makes relations stronger.
Now that I know how it feels, hats off to all the soldiers staying away from their families. I agree other professions demand this too. But in army, there's always a constant threat, no matter what.
Soldiers make all families in the country feel safe. Their selfless contribution to the nation will always be cherished.
Hope it will help u in solving your problem
