(i) Excessive secretion of pituitary gland will leads to gigantism in a child.

(ii) Whereas, sluggish in secretion of child leads to short height in their growth.

Explanation:

Over secretion of pituitary gland is also known as hyperthyroidism. This will result in a condition named as gigantism in adolescents and children. The children with this condition would experience unusual growth in their hands and legs that might grow to the height of 7 to 8 feet.  

In case of hypothyroidism (low secretion pituitary gland), children would experience shorter heights, fat around their face and waist (i.e. poor growth and decreased muscle weight), with low energy and minimal strength.
