Electron dot structure of ethene
- Ethene is the unsaturated hydrocarbons which has double bond in its structure.
- To draw the electron dot structure of ethene, the valence electron present in the molecule must be first calculated.
- Accordingly, the valence electrons present in ethene are as follows:
= 2 (Valence electrons in C) + 4 (Valence electrons in H)
- From the above calculation, it is inferred that ethene has 16 valence electrons. With this, the dot structure of benzene looks like the structure given in the attachment.
