The equation:

4y - 3 = √2x

4y - 3 - √2x = 0

- √2x + 4y - 3 = 0

a = -√2 , b = 4 , c = 3

Hope it helps :-)

The equation can be written as; -√2x+4y-3 = 0

a = -√2,

b = 4, and

c = -3

GIVEN

Algebraic equation; 4y-3 = √2x

TO FIND

  • To write the above equation in the form of ax+by+c = 0
  • Indicate the value of a, b, and c

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows -

We know the standard form of a linear equation having two variables is - ax+by+c = 0

Where,

a, b and c are real numbers.

And the value of coefficients of x and y is not equal to zero.

We are given an algebraic equation-

4y-3 = √2x

Bringing √2x from RHS to LHS (positive sign changes to negative)

4y -3- √2x = 0

Rearranging the equation in the form of 'ax+by+c = 0'

-√2x +4y -3 = 0

Compared with the standard equation,

a = -√2

b = 4

c = -3

Hence, The equation can be written as -

-√2x+4y-3 = 0

value of a = -√2, b = 4, and c = -3
