The equation of a line passing through the point (3,5) and parallel to x-axis is y = 5.

As the line is parallel to the x-axis it will have slope equal to zero (m= 0).

On the line the value of the y- coordinate will always be constant and the x - coordinate will change .

General Equation of a line is -

y-y1 = m(x-x1)

y1 = 5 , x1 = 3 and m = 0

=> y - 5 = 0 × (x-3)

=> y = 5

The equation of the line -

y = 5
