The boiling point elevation is directly proportional to the molality of solution. Thus,

ΔTb ∝ m

∴ ΔTb ∝ Kb m

where, m is the molality of solution. The proportional constant Kb is called boiling point elevation constant or molal elevation constant or ebullioscopic constant.
