Answer:

given : perimeter = 40 cm

          length is more than double its breadth by 2

let length be x and breadth be y

x = 2 y +2 ....... 1st eq

perimeter = 2 ( L+B ) =40 CM

2 y + 2 + y = 40/2

3 y +2 = 20

3 y = 20-2 = 18

y = 18 /3 = 6

so substitute y= 6 in  1st eq

x = 2 x 6 +2 = 12+ 2= 14

therefore , x = 14 and y = 6

hope it helps you !!!
