Step-by-step explanation:

let the breadth=x

length=2x+2

perimeter=40

ATQ

2(l+b)=40

2(2x+2+x)=40

2(3x+2)=40

divide both sides by 2

3x+2=20

3x=20-2

x=18/3

x=6

so the breadth=6cm

than l = 2x+2

= 2*6+2

=12+2

=14cm(ANS)

Let the length be x and breadth be y

It is given that length of rectangle is more than double of It's breadth by 3.

i.e.l=2b+3

x=2y+3_eq1

Perimeter is 40

i.e.2(l+b)=40

2(x+y)=40

2(2y+3+y)=40

2(3y+3)=40

3y+3=20

3y=17

x=17/3
