Democracy produce an accountable, responsive and legitimate government

Explanation:

Expected Outcomes of Democracy

  • "Democratic govt" is considered a democracy that is chosen and accountable to the public. Democracy provides a "responsive government" as it is formed by "elected representatives" of the "people". These representatives discuss social problems and develop policies & programs accordingly. In a democratic country, the elected representatives make sure that the projects are carried out, and the government has accountability to the people. It responds to citizens' wishes and desires. The parliamentary governments work according to the concept of "deliberation & consultation".
  • A government is that which addresses the people's needs, and where decline of all aspects of injustice & inequality. A democratic govt works towards social prosperity & development, all social diversities are accommodated, and ensures people's dignity & freedom.
  • Democracies are constitutional, so they are legal and legitimate. The laws of the nation apply to all, including the "members of the legislature". There are "free & fair elections" in democracies, & people in the next elections have the power to eliminate parties whom they are

Actual outcome of Democracy

  • The relation between democracy and economic development and economic inequality shows a marginally better record of economic development for the dictatorial regime. However, in democracies, there can be very large disparities. Often the weaker sections of society have unequal opportunities. In the election of representatives, every person has equal weight. In putting people on an equal basis, economic disparities tend to increase.
  • A few wealthy people benefit from a very disproportionate share in wealth and income. A share of the nation's gross gdp has risen. Many living the below the poverty line or in the "bottom strata" of the society have very little means of survival . The income has further declined. In real life, govts tend to have struggled to minimize income disparity quite effectively.
  • No society can resolve conflicts between the various groups completely & permanently. Nevertheless, in a democratic society we  learn to cooperate & we can build strategies to overcome the discrepancies. Democracy is the only way to obtain this outcome. The ability of the democratic regimes to deal with social disparities, conflicts and disagreements is an asset. To reach this result, though, democracy should meet 2 criteria: The majority must always strive to reflect the common point of view for the minority. Most majority rules recognizes that various individuals and groups could  constitute a majority in particular instance of any decision or in case of each election.
  • In the preservation of the independence and equality of people, democracy is far preferable to any other form of government. For example,Women's struggles have led to a awareness that justice for women & equal rights are important components of a modern democracy. The same applies to the inequalities of castes. Democracy has reinforced India 's demands for dignity & equal rights for deprived & oppressed castes. Presently most voters agree that the way the govt is managed & that their own preferences are influenced by their vote.
