Answer:

Derive an expression for path of projectile

Trajectory of a projectile is a parabolic trajectory. This explanation and the equation are very useful to class 11 students and IIT JEE aspirants. During the derivation we found, if a projectile is thrown with sped 'u' and at an angle θ with the horizontal, y = x tanθ / ( 2 u^2 cosθ^2).

  • As we know that trajectory is the path, by neglecting all other forces particle will take under the action of gravity.
  • The forces such as friction from air resistance.
  • It is also known as a flight path.
  • The object can be moved under the gravity action.
  • We can express trajectory as,

                 y=x tan ФФ- \frac{gx2}{2v2cos2}Ф

  • Where;

          Y= horizontal component.

          x= Vertical component.

         Ф= Angle of projection.

         g= Acceleration.

         v= Absolute initial velocity.
