External factors affecting transpiration-
1. Intensity of sunlight- More transpiration occurs during day.
2. Temperature- Increase in temperature allows more water to evaporate.
3. Velocity of wind- Transpiration increases with the velocity of wind.
4. Humidity- Transpiration is reduced if the air outside is humid.
5. Carbon dioxide- Increase in CO2 level decreases transpiration.
6. Atmospheric pressure- Rate of transpiration increases with decrease in atmospheric pressure.
