Features of Alluvial soil
They are immature and have weak profiles due to their recent origin. Most of the soil is Sandy and clayey soils are not uncommon. Pebbly and gravelly soils are rare. The soil is porous because of its loamy (equal proportion of sand and clay) nature.
Features of black soil
The black soil is formed by the weathering of lava (igneous rocks) and cooling of lava after a volcanic eruption. The soil in the Deccan Plateau consist of black basalt soil, which is rich in humus, iron and also contain high quality of magnesia, lime and alumina.
