HIMALAYAN RIVERS
- They have longer courses than peninsular rivers.
- Most of the himalayan rivers are perennial, which means they have water throughout the year.
- Their source of water comes from rain and melting of snow/glacier.
- They perform intensive erosional activities which means they deposits the sand and silt into plains.
- These rivers form meanders and oxbow lakes in lower and middle courses.
- Meanders are the bend in rivers following to winding course.
- They have well-developed deltas. Example :- Sunderban delta.
- Example :- Indus, Brahmaputra, Ganga etc.
- They usually have a cut through making the gorges.
