• Most of the himalayan rivers are perennial, which means they have water throughout the year.
• Their source of water comes from rain and melting of snow/glacier.
• They perform intensive erosional activities which means they deposits the sand and silt into plains.
• These rivers form meanders and oxbow lakes in lower and middle courses.
• Meanders are the bend in rivers following to winding course.
• They have well-developed deltas. Example :- Sunderban delta.
• Example :- Indus, Brahmaputra, Ganga etc.
• They usually have a cut through making the gorges.
