Write the first five terms of the following sequence whose nth term is a n equal to n square minus n + 1

As you said,

nth term = n² - n + 1

So, it's first five terms are :-

• 1st term (put n = 1) = 1 - 1 + 1 = 1

• 2nd term (put n = 2) = 4 - 2 + 1 = 3

• 3rd term (put n= 3) = 9 - 3 + 1 = 7

• 4th term (put n = 4) = 16 - 4 + 1 = 13

• 5th term (put n = 5) = 25 - 5 + 1 = 21
