The formula showing the relation between object distance, image distance and focal length is:

1/F= 1/U + 1/V, where U denotes object distance,

V denotes image distance and

F denotes the focal length of the spherical mirror.

On the other hand, the concept of a lens is such that,

1/V - 1/U = 1/F in case of a lens.

where U,V, and F means similar but the overall formula is negative in this case.
