write the formula for the mood and with the help of this formula find out the mode from the following frequency table: class interval; 0_10,10_20,20_30,30_40,40_50,50_60,60_70,70_80 frequency; 2,18,30,45,35,20,6,3 describe this question and solution

Answer:

Formula for finding mode is given by,

Mode = L+(fm−fm−1)+(fm−fm+1)fm−fm−1×w

Where, L= lower class boundary of modal class

(Model class = class with highest frequency)

fm−1= frequency of class before modal class

fm= frequency of modal class

fm+1= frequency of after modal class

w = group width

Here,

 0-1010-20 20-30 30-40 40-50 50-60 60-70 70-80  714 13 12 20 11 15 8

Hence, Mode = 40+(20−12)+(20−11)20−12×10

=40+8+98×10

=40+1780=40(1+172)

=1740×19=17760

Mode = 17760
