Manganese has electron configuration of [Ar] 4s2 3d5 so it's maximum possible oxidation state can go upto +7. In permanganate ion (MnO4)-1, the Mn has ox num of +7. So, in compounds like Sodium permanganate or Potassium permanganate, Mn has ox num of +7.

Among other transitional elements, which show oxidation number +7, are Tc (Z=43), Re(75) in NaTcO4, K2ReH9 respectively.
