Write the formula of the compound formed by the ions al3 and so2-4

Al2(SO4)3 

just switch the charges of aluminum and sulfate :) 
Al has a charge of 3+ and sulfate has a charge of 2- 
switch them and put parenthasese around the sulfate ion since it's polyatomic, and the 4 stays there since it's part of sulfate. 
and then just switch the charges
