ELEMENT A has the atomic no 19 which means element a is potassium

Element B has the atomic no 17 which means element b is chlorine

Chlorine has a negative charge of 1 while potassium as you know has a positive charge of 1

So they are capable of forming ionic compounds

And we call the bonds ionic bonds as there are ions involved.

The formula thus obtained is KCl or potassium chloride
