Consider a cylinder of radius r and height h. The total surface area (TSA) includes the area of the circular top and base, as well as the curved surface area (CSA).For a cylinder there is 2 kinds of formulas the lateral and the total. the lateral surface area is just the sides the formula for that is 2(pi)radius(height). the formula for the total surface area is 2(pi)radius(height) + 2(pi)radius squared.Calculate the area of the base (which is a circle) by using the equation πr² where r is the radius of the circle. Then, multiply the area of the base by the height of the cylinder to find the volume.First, plug the values of the volume, pi, and radius into the formula for volume of a cylinder. Next, square the radius and multiply the values together. Last, divide each side by 113.04 for the answer, remembering to include the appropriate unit of measurement. The answer is the height of the cylinder is 8 inches.
