Step-by-step explanation:

Let a circle of radius r units .

Then the area of the circle is given by π r^2 square units .

Consider , an arc of the circle makes an angle theta with the centre .

Then the circle will be divided into two parts .

If we assume the circle as an arc .

Then we can say that , area of sector which subtends 360 degree at the centre is π r ^2 .

→ Area of a sector which subtends 1 degree at the centre will be π r^2/ 360

→ Area of a sector which subtends theta degree at the centre will be =( ∅/ 360) × π r ^2

===============================

Hence , the formula is ( ∅/360 ) × π r ^2 square units

===============================

Make sure that , Theta is measured in degree and π is a constant not an angle of 180 degree .
