I) The metals are usually solid at room temperature. There are only a small number of metals that are liquid in room temperature i.e. Mercury.
II) They are usually silver in colour.
III) Metals are usually hard.
IV) Metals have usually high boiling and melting temperature.
V) Metals are ductile.
Non - metals
I) Non-metals can be solid or liquid at the room temperature.
II) They can be of various colours.
III) Non-metals are usually soft. Only few Non-metals are hard.
IV) Non-metals have low boiling and melting point.
