AIM- to study the process of fermentation in laboratory

MATERIAL REQUIRED - A 500ml beaker , yeast , sugar ( 2-3 teaspoons ) and water.

PROCEDURE - take a 500 ml beaker filled up to ¾ with water . dissolve 2-3 teaspoon of sugar in it . Add half a spoon of yeast powder to the sugar solution . keep it covered in the warm place for 4-5 hours .

OBSERVATION - now smell the solution . a Rotten smell you get . this is a smell of alcohol as sugar has been converted into alcohol by yeast .

RESULT - This process of conversion of sugar into alcohol is known as fermentation.
