AIM - to study the release of carbon dioxide in the process of fermentation

MATERIAL REQUIRED - A bowl , yeast , maida (white flour) , sugar (2 - 3 teaspoons) and water.

PROCEDURE - Take ½ kg flour ( Aata or Maida ) add some sugar and mix with warm water . add a small amount of yeast powder and knead to make a soft dough keep it for 3-4 hours.

OBSERVATION - You will find the dough rising. yeast reproduces rapidly and produces carbon dioxide during respiration . bubble of gas fill the dough and increases its volume. This is the basis of use of yeast in the baking industries of making breads pastries and cakes .

RESULT - yeast reproduce rapidly and produces carbon dioxide during respiration . bubbles of the gas fill the dough and increasing its volume.
