full form of MGNREGA is Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employee Guarantee Act.
This scheme was started back in 2005 by congress.
The aim of this act was to protect livelihood of poors and give atleast a job of 100 days to a adult of every family who is willing to do unskilled manuel labour.
This act is still in existence and doing very well.
