MNF stands for Mizo National Front.
This is a political party which belongs to the state of Mizoram, India.
In 1959, Mizo areas in Assam had suffered famines in which the role of central government was negligent.
Aggrieved and angry, PU Laldenga constituted a party ‘Mizo National Famine Front’ to fight against the government’s non-participation in the famine struck areas.
Mizo National Front is an emergence from the Mizo National Famine Front.
The party signed an agreement with the central government in 1986 and agreed to give up violence and secession, under the Mizo Accord.
