The function of cytoplasm:

1) Most of the important activities of the cell occur in the cytoplasm (it contains organelles to perform specific functions)
2) Cytoplasm contains molecules such as enzymes which are responsible for breaking down waste and also aid in metabolic activity.
3) Cytoplasm is responsible for giving a cell its shape.
4) It is responsible for filling out the cell and keeping organelles in their place.
5) Without cytoplasm the cell would be deflated.
6) Cytoplasm acts as a medium through which materials are exchanged between organelles.
