Digestive enzymes helps in digesting
Complex food materials into simpler
molecules for absorption by the body.
During digestion of food, different parts
of the alimentary canal produces
different digestive enzymes that helps in
digestion of different components of
food. For example, saliva produces
salivaryamylase that digests the starch.
Stomach contain gastric glands that
produces pepsin that helps in protein
digestion. Apart from that other
enzymes Such as trypsin, chymotrypsin
also helps in protein digestion.

In MOUTH

in mouth salivary amylase of saliva from salivary gland digest the carbohydrate upto 80 per cent

IN STOMACH

stomach contains gastric gland from which gastric juices is secreated. Gastric juices contains three enzymes HCL which act on protein and digests it ,mucus which neutralises the acidic effect of HCL in stomach and pro enzymes which are of two types propepsin and prorennin it activates HCL to act on protein

IN SMALL INTESTINE

BY BILE JUICE

bile juice is secreated from liver and stored in gall bladder . Bile juice is alkaline and contains salt. It being alkaline turns acidic protein alkaline and salt convert fat to emulsified fat globules

BY PANCREATIC JUICE

pancreatic juice from pancreas enters small intestine and contains amylase which act on partially digested carbohydrates, trypsin which digest protein and lipase which digests emulsified fat

By INTESTINAL JUICES

juices from intestine finally convert carbohydrates to glucose , protein to amino acid and fat to fatty acid and glycerol
