⭕️Mitochondrion is a membrane-enclosed organelle found in eukaryotic cells.

⭕️Mitochondria are responsible for the production of most of the energy (or ATP) in cells.

⭕️ mitochondria are also known as the power house   of cells.

⭕️A mitochondrion is composed of two lipid membranes, enclosing the matrix.

⭕️ Mitochondrial matrix contains mitochondrial DNA and ribosomes.

✔️✔️Functions of mitochondria:

⭕️They produce energy required for cells in the form of ATP.

⭕️They also regulate the free calcium ion concentration in the cytosol.

⭕️They participate in programmed cell death.

\huge\textbf{Mitochondria :}

Mitochondria are small rod shaped like organelles. It is double membrane structure. It is easily visible under microscope. Outer membrane is smooth and forms the continuous limiting boundary of the organelle. The inner membrane is projected into numerous finger like structures.

It has its own DNA and RNA.

Found in Aerobic Eukaryotic cells.

\huge\textbf{Function :}

1) They provide energy for vital activities of cell

2) They store release energy during reactions in the form of ATP. Therefore they are known as power house of cells.

3) Some amino acids are also formed in it.
