During systole, the ventricles contract, pumping blood through the body. During diastole, the ventricles relax and fill with blood again. The left ventriclereceives oxygenated blood from the left atrium via the mitral valve and pumps it through the aorta via the aortic valve, into the systemic circulation.

the function of the ventrical is to carry impure blood from body organs to the heart for the rather oxygenation from lungs it is transported to whole body through arteries.The pulmonary ventrical is the only vein which carries pure blood.
