Heya,
Let me answer it accordingly .......
Let us start ....
First we will talk that what is an epithelial tissue???
Epithelial tissue are those tissue which forms the covering or lining of most of our organs. In other words, the tissues which do the protection work by forming the covering on organs such as buccal cavity, blood vessels, alveoli of lungs, and kidney tubules. Our skin is also made up of this type of tissue. These cells are tightly packed.
Now coming to functions :-
Hope you got some functions from its definition tho...
The primary function of Epithelial tissue is that they forms covering on most organs and protect them from mechanical and bacterial or viral infections.
It forms barrier and keeps the organs separate.
It helps in absorption and also in the elimination of waste products.
Some epithelial tissues contains glands too and secrete their secretion like sweat gland and salivary glands.
Hope this helps .......
if any doubt, feel free to ask .....
