Explanation:

The primary functions of the stem are to support the leaves; to conduct water and minerals to the leaves, where they can be converted into usable products by photosynthesis; and to transport these products from the leaves to other parts of the plant, including the roots.

Answer:

Function of leaves: The leaves have chlorophyll with the help of which they make food or glucose (C6H12O6) in the presence of sunlight and the process is called photosynthesis. They also have stomata at the lower surface which help in respiration.

Function of stem: They keep the plant upright, in its position. They have some tissues called Xylem and Phloem which help in the conduction of water and food materials.
