  • Endoplasmic Reticulum - The endoplasmic reticulum can either be smooth or rough, and in general its function is to produce proteins for the rest of the cell to function.
  • Golgi apparatus - The Golgi apparatus transports and modifies proteins in eukaryotic cells.
  • Lysosomes - the breakdown/digestion of macromolecules (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids), cell membrane repairs, and responses against foreign substances such as bacteria, viruses and other antigens. They are also known as suicide bags.
  • Mitochondria - it generates most of the chemical energy needed to power the cell's biochemical reactions. Chemical energy produced by the mitochondria is stored in a small molecule called adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
  • Plastids - photosynthesis and the production and storage of metabolites are the main functions of Plastids.
