UPPER CHAMBERS OF HEART ::

❇The upper two relatively small chambers called Atria.

❇The two lower large chambers called ventricles.

❇The Right and left Atria are separated by a thin, muscular wall called

"INTERATRIAL SEPTUM "

❇The right atrium recevies deoxygenated blood through coronary sinus and two large veins called Vena cava.

❇The left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the lungs through two pair of pulmonary veins.

❇The SA node that is sino atrial node is present in upper right corner of the right atrium .

❇This node is also called pace maker.

❇The AV node is Atrio ventricular node which is present in lower left corner of the right atrium.

❇The right Atrium is some what larger than left atrium as its function is to supply oxygenated blood to all parts of body except lungs.

additional information for Atria and ventricles ::

❇The lower part contains ventricles.

❇They are relatively larger than Atria.

❇The two ventricles are separated by thick walled inter ventricular septum.

❇An other septum that separates both the Atria and ventricles called The atrio -ventricular septum.

❇The openings between Atria and ventricles are guarded by AV valves.
