\huge\bold{\underline{\blue{AnswEr:-}}}

A series of compounds with the same functional group and similar chemical properties in which differ from \sf{C \sf H_2 } group.

Homologous series of alkynes:-

The series of hydrocarbon compounds that contains atleast one triple bond. This group of compounds is a homologous series with the general formula \sf{ \sf C_n \sf H_{2n - 2} }, where n is any integer greater than one.

For example:-

  • Ethyne =  \sf{ \sf C_2 \sf H_2 }

  • Propyne =  \sf{ \sf C_3 \sf H_4 }

  • Butyne =  \sf{ \sf C_4 \sf H_6 }
